Housing

The high cost of housing is forcing many people, especially women and children, into homelessness. Fear and trauma can accompany displacement when options are few or non-existent. With few options available, many have no choice but to live in their cars or couch surf. Fear and trauma often accompany displacement, and children are especially vulnerable to this instability. In Jackson County, two students in every classroom are experiencing homelessness. This issue impacts all ages and affects our entire community .

A Little History

This historic 1897 farmhouse on .66 acre in Ashland, Oregon was originally part of the largest working ranch in Southern Oregon.  In 2018, it was purchased and renovated specifically for our nonprofit use.

What We Offer

Our Focus

At Parker House, we help women heal from the root causes homelessness: trauma, abuse and lack of stable income, so they can become self-sufficient and emotionally and physically healthy for themselves and their children. We do this through individual counseling, coaching and education.

Our Program

We provide a community living environment with private bedrooms and on-site support. We offer individual case management, mentoring, community referrals, and education, customized to each participant’s needs. Every woman at Parker House makes a commitment to work toward achieving weekly and long-term goals in order to turn their lives and the lives of their children around.

Community Partners

We work with many social service, mental health, and healthcare agencies and organizations in Jackson and Josephine counties. We assist each Participant to connect with the community resources they need to help them achieve their personal and housing goals. We often are the conduit that makes these referrals work and serve as a liaison when needed.
